The Hario Polaris is a modern electronic scale designed for pour-over coffee brewing, making it ideal for both home and café use. Its main advantages are its elegant design and the ability to simultaneously measure weight, track brew time, and indicate the required amount of water based on the set coffee-to-water ratio.
Description
Thanks to its convenient dimensions (165 mm × 127 mm × 28 mm), this scale can accommodate various accessories for alternative coffee brewing methods, such as Chemex, dripper, or AeroPress.
Time and weight are displayed on a clear, backlit LCD screen. With 0.1-gram precision and a weighing range of up to 2 kilograms, this scale is extremely versatile. It is easily operated via touch-sensitive buttons.
The Hario Polaris features a water measurement indicator based on preset coffee-to-water ratios. Operation is simple: set your desired ratio (from 1:1 to 1:30 in 0.5 increments), add coffee, and the indicator shows the required amount of water. A percentage indicator also displays how much of the target water has already been added.
The Hario Polaris offers three operating modes:
• Manual (classic): the timer starts manually and only weight and time are displayed.
• Automatic: the timer starts automatically when water begins to pour.
• Automatic + pouring indicator (Polaris mode): the timer and water indicator operate based on the preset coffee-to-water ratio
