About the product

Rwanda is a country full of diversity and rich in fertile soil. The entire country lies at a relatively high altitude, with its lowest point at 950 meters above sea level. Sometimes it is difficult to choose coffee from just one region, as the climate conditions for coffee cultivation are excellent throughout the country. That is why we chose Muteteli, which combines flavors from our three favorite regions of Rwanda.

To the west lies the Albertine Rift montane forest ecoregion, home to abundant wildlife and Lake Kivu on the border with Congo. Coffee from approximately 1,200 local smallholder farmers is processed at the Kanyege washing station. In the north, in the hilly terrain of the Gicumbi district, rich volcanic soils and lush green slopes contribute to a vibrant, juicy aroma. The Karisimbi washing station is located here. The third coffee completing the Muteteli cup comes from the Southern Province, specifically from the Gitega Hills washing station, opened in 2015. Many smallholder farmers in this area grow their coffee in one of the most densely forested regions of Rwanda.

All three coffees are grown at altitudes between 1,700 and 2,200 meters above sea level. The coffee you prepare from these beans will be as diverse as Rwanda itself.
