Description

About the product

This coffee originates from Valle del Cauca, a lush region nestled between the western and central ranges of the northwestern Andes. Surrounded by towering mountains, the area is known for its volcanic soil rich in organic matter and abundant natural springs, which contribute to the production of high-quality, exceptionally smooth coffee.

Approximately 95% of the coffee in this region is grown by small-scale producers working on farms of 5 hectares or less. The coffee is hand-picked, pulped using traditional methods, and fermented in tanks before being washed and sun-dried.

For decaffeination, Colsuaves partners with Descafecol, which uses a natural process combining high-altitude spring water and naturally derived ethyl acetate (EA). This EA is extracted from sugarcane, and together with spring water, forms the only elements used in the process. This gentle method avoids excessive heat or pressure, preserving the beans’ natural structure.
The result: a Colombian coffee with all its desirable qualities, 99.9% caffeine-free.
